The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 小女主的颜值回一星，无比冗长无趣毫无想象力的电影，小女主还让人有点怪奇物语的念想

本片关于能被高压电束缚住的「鬼」的设定很独特。几个孩子挑起捉鬼大梁的同时，也为系列前作接续了历史。影片对系列老观众的服务很到位，但对于新观众来说，难免会因部分角色、道具、情节设定交待不足而影响观感。
明明是独立低成本动作片，居然玩出一镜到底，挺过瘾的。

最后阶段才开始三人组救场致敬，两个小时的电影，拍出了正片只有70分钟的感觉，全靠情怀撑着，致敬逝世的演员哈罗德·雷米斯，再加上这是目前伊万·雷特曼作为制片人的遗作，儿子作为导演拍摄的作品。
