The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 两分献给开头，开头真的蛮有意思的，后面就逐渐走入了装逼的魔咒。 抖音上有一种短视频，一开始露个腹肌，然后夸擦一声掏出砧板开始包饺子。 这电影仿佛反过来了，刚开头有滋有味的包饺子教程，然后夸擦一声变成腹肌，就这样显摆了俩小时，也没下一步，令人索然无味———还不如踏踏实实包饺子呢！

何止两段，前中后是三段电影吧！
一堆思想的大杂烩吧。郭小鲁就是一个不懂爱的人，不爱别人，也不接受别人的爱。到最后也不知道想表达什么，还弄出一个奇幻的干细胞实验。改个片名叫行尸走肉吧。王珞丹表现不错，可惜清纯女神渐渐不在了。
看完想吐
干细胞相关的戏过于重了，喧宾夺主，而且让片名里面「奇」的意境被消解掉了，王朔风格强烈的对白给影片加分不少，前半部分还是不错的。ps，真没看出那是王啸坤！这角色真好，会让人期待出场的那种好
《不老奇事》
看剧本的时候觉得有可能拍不出这种气质，最后成片质感还可以。个人觉得已经是不错了。

干细胞有点太扯了，我以为他会老老实实成为一个好的外科医生。

没有才华，不懂节制。浪费主演。浪费编剧。浪费摄影。本来可以是个好电影。
“父母是隔在我们与死亡之间的一堵墙”
用文艺片的方式探讨一个医学命题，用干细胞的比喻来讲爱情，有点不讨喜，但我还挺喜欢的。缓缓道来的旁白，是人生啊，是遗憾啊，是无能为力。配乐、画面、演员的表演都很好，李婷婷特别惊喜，最喜欢丁萌萌。
两个沉浸在文艺片中的“优秀演员”，也别尬吹什么演技了吧。。。
十分差！得多厌女多自恋多不知道世界正在发生什么，才能搞出这样的电影啊……
