The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 很无聊的炸鸡圣诞电影，但一点都不狗血，所以如一杯热红酒的开心。
本来对一部圣诞电影不应该有太高的要求，但是很多桥段还是俗套到让人无语，况且去年已经有两部圣诞同影有着几乎完全一样的故事线，《圣诞速配》至少还有这比这部更加深层次挽救圣诞传统的故事线，而这部就直接变成家庭催婚记了，还在演员们表演都还挺不错，喜剧效果也都有了

虽然剧情走向从两男主一亮相，就猜出个七七八八，也并没影响到继续看完整个故事的热情。3个男生都是好菜，各有各的香，Peter的家庭组成也符合圣诞节的标准配置。环节上没有多余，没有不够，传统的西方节日里，套着不传统的GAY版爱情，欢乐带来的感染力完全不受性别取向拘泥。
