The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 看名字就知道很随意，但是电影开头质感还不错，你接着看，就会发现，你一开始的判断没有错，就是很随意跟烂，古老的恶魔的技能，就是控制人数数……爱尔兰到底是多害怕数学，数数有啥可怕的🤨你看完就会发现，你浪费了一个多少小时都不理解，数数！有啥？可怕的！？怎么的就能5分以上？？？
我比较喜欢那个可怕的形象 有那么一点点 寂静岭的味道
虽然怪物蛮特别的，成为全剧加分的地方，可是如果只是变态房东杀人逻辑更正常吧。前面节奏慢，一惊一乍的，不算恐怖，高能全都集中在了最后，很一般
略显疲软的恐怖片，剧情撑不起个半小时的片长，预算全用在最后了。一般般。
外国的便宜大别也里面肯定有古怪，不是鬼就是妖怪。原来有的旧东西能扔就全扔掉，要不然随便不起眼的小玩意就能引发动乱，这次是播放喇叭，上上次是勇敢者游戏的棋盘，还有林间木屋里面各种老古董。不过那整面的书墙真赞啊！好想拥有
1.我看之前看过一些评价，所以我做好了“整部电影很垃圾但是有一个点子创意不错”的预期2.但是我怎么也没想到电影就是一部最烂俗的住宅闹鬼片，而且连娱乐性jumpscare都没有，角色弱智故事基本没有，然后我忍到最后这个最大的噱头“数学地狱”其实就是一堆人数数
还不错，怪物造型很特别，故事也完整，就是最后关于怪物的由来没有说有点一头雾水。
最近看了些啥呀。没有一个能看完了。疫情宅家看看电影也没可看的。郁闷
一般吧，怪物造型比较掉san，女主最后复仇比较爽，电影前一小时铺垫除了填时长几乎没什么用。
整体氛围不错，就是结尾太突兀，虎头蛇尾，最后也没讲明白咋回事
隐喻的内容就不说了，能看懂的都懂了。很喜欢把科学和神学混合起来的电影，即带着些许的真实又带着虚幻的玄学。伟大的数学！！

七分，很像潜伏，但是没潜伏那么刺激，电影本身恐怖镜头很少，靠音效和故事引发的猜想去撩拨人心，二手房购买需谨慎啊！
结局不太合理，为什么整个房子都在地狱里面？

塑造自我，逃脱羁绊，世上很多正统的观念其实是对立存在的，为了立足道德层面，自我欺骗麻痹是常态，满足于虚伪的世态，影片告诉你做自己才能获得生命的强大。恐怖只是影片的一个壳。
只能说还一般吧，没有特别的吓人，就是血腥场面 有点看不了。
这部真的不行，氛围营造的有了，但这个故事跟本没跟上，但每次到了那个点就是差两口气，有点莫名其妙，看了半天也没搞懂要说什么。浪费我两小时
