The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 看这部电影的时候很难不想起奥森·威尔斯的版本，两位导演都采用的黑白画面，也都依靠高度抽象的场景布置，受限于条件，威尔斯的剧场痕迹更重一些，镜头在剧场里，而科恩则没有这个问题，剧场在镜头里。

7/10，制作精良、高度风格化的佳作，观影时多次想起威尔斯的《奥赛罗》和奥利弗的《哈姆雷特》。与威尔斯的《奥赛罗》类似，本片也更换了主角的种族，并毫不意外地破坏了影片的可信性。
优点和缺点一样突出，构图摄影非常完美，更接近舞台剧式的表演则是一把双刃剑，一方面最大限度的还原了莎翁作品的的文学性，另一方面也最大限度的限制了作为电影作品存在的价值！
