The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 或许是出于某种奇怪的刻板印象，叔侄关系的一对人物被搬上银幕，总让我觉得导演有颗拍公路片的心。说到本片，主题其实仍然是类似的，无非就是身陷囹圄的成年人被少不更事的孩子治愈（严重一点就是救赎）的故事，全片采用黑白色调就显得非常没有必要，完全起不到氛围严肃的作用，为何不干脆随大流使用干净明亮的色彩呢？不明白导演的用意何在。

一部很有设计感的电影，将虚与实镶嵌起来呈现。一面是，一个编导去记录，生活在不同社会环境和家庭氛围中的未成年人的想法的过程；另一面是，一个叔叔和他年仅9岁的侄儿，如何从巨大的年龄差异中，摸索出共通的人生脉络的经历。
Could be an urban prose, a nostalgic tale, a coming-of-age story, or mostly a sincere record of the intangible/invisible around our lives. 走走停停，兜兜转转，c’mon c’mon是向前看时候的一次深呼吸。
很温馨很沉闷的片子，采集到的声音真好听啊，但是滤波得到的信号就是真实的吗？

生动自然的表演，我们一路追问，一路寻求答案，或许很多问题永远都不到正确回答，但问题本身已经是活着的意义了。
