The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 肿么讲？就是爱猫之人不想给这个片子减分，但是确实又是本尼献出的神奇的无语之片。。。
复古式的画面，古老的英国乡村风光，悲催的家庭，可爱的猫咪。卷福的表演太有特色了，画家的笨拙、啰嗦、痴迷被他演绎得极其真实。画家韦恩的人生与他作品中的猫生对比鲜明，导演也采用了这种对比手法，展现了韦恩的爱情、亲情、家庭，并让观众看到其作品的美。值得一提的是，那个年代画猫是一件需要勇气的事情。
