The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 取材自14世纪法国历史上最后一场正式的司法决斗，无关公道与正义，而是为了贵族阶级虚假的荣光。女性以付出生命代价为前提才得以在男权桎梏中发出微弱的呐喊，她是父权的交易工具、夫权的私有财产、男权的掠夺性资源，却唯独不能是她自己。三个视角轮番上阵补足故事全貌叙事稍显冗长，有种斥巨资采购食材最后只端出一盘小葱拌豆腐的感觉。
本想说三段式的结构推进高明有趣，结果看完了觉得大可不必。
就凭美学成风格这一点来说真的就已经很让人尊敬了。炯炯在这部片子里想谈论的东西很多，有点想要一网子一网打尽的意味，导致有那么点散了，微微冗长。

真的是很妙，用舞台的形式却能表现这么丰富的故事，还以牛头马面带着走黄泉路来展开，导演还是很有想法的。
没想到看到了目前今年华语最佳，心满意足了~

#MoMI First, 很值得回味的电影，越回想越喜欢。喜欢导演从一个一个小的场景讲述时代的漩涡中的故事。很有话剧的特色，但又不会像《驴得水》的转场那么让人出戏。看完得知军阀团长的演员是导演的父亲。特别特别喜欢导演转场字幕背景的pastel，画的太有感觉了。很开心很感动，导演用慢慢的镜头，讲述一个长长的故事。
三个人物，三个角度呈现三段故事，真相只有一个！
个体的绽放。但视觉世界观逻辑混乱让我无法沉浸在故事里
