The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it?     一开始以为是部311题材的悼亡片，但在堇的视角加入之后，看出了一点《横道世之介》的感觉。就像真奈问的那样，堇究竟是个什么样的人呢？她的头发越剪越短，她的内心离我们越来越远，即使没有海啸，她这台收音机是否也会对不上这个同一化社会的频道呢？电影由此更进一步，越来越无法做自己的堇形成一种对社会的批判。看得出来导演不太喜欢冲突比较强的场景，一直旁敲侧击地去表现情感，但有时候他反而不会做减法，所以影片显得冗长。
