The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 作为一部电视连续剧的前传，要在短短的一部电影中，既要讲述自己的故事，
现在日影都是些啥…编剧导演卡斯…还有土屋那张毫无生气的脸…
无太大波澜起伏，略有低迷状态，算是值得一看
开头慢了点，其他剧情设还是很多剧集那种对黑帮祛魅的味道
藤原哥什么时候能演个不是变态的好剧本啊……
就记住了个 motherfucker 感觉蛮搞笑的。
强行加入的BLM元素让人并不舒适，两个小时对于人物的特点刻画来说显得有些太短。
似乎解答了到底是谁杀了Uncle Dickie这个问题，大概率是Jr，但是其实谁杀了他又重要吗？假如jr没有杀他，黑人黑帮也会去杀他，和Tony最后的结局似乎一样具有了讽刺的色彩，人在做天在看，最后报应依然会找到头上。

一开始就得抖擞精神搞清现实与虚构，到后来就有种看疯狂的石头，两杆大烟枪之类的感觉，就是节奏有点慢
都2022年了还“当然是选择原谅她”，这是碳基生物能写出来的剧本吗？难看到让人发笑。不得不说舔狗是真的牛批。

男因把他人出轨写进小说被索赔欠债后成皮条并欠书店老板白，男写新书把其讲给编辑即女听，故事是男偶遇酒吧老板风，风的员工预支薪水时风的社长派人送东西给风保管放前台，风妻孕风觉是妻出轨孩，男管的J女真爱上帅倒贴并不给男交分成，帅傍上风妻，白病死留给男一箱3千万和夹3万当书签的书，风一家失踪。男用书里万元钞理发被识是假币引警和黑帮追，男把3千万真钱还黑帮后当酒保。女听后亲验见全是真实人和地址。故事外黑帮头替男捐3千万给孤儿院，3千万是白养老金，只有3张书里的是假币实是男的社长让男保管的假币模板被前台误当预支薪水给了员工被其借朋友，朋友招J给了真，真当车费夹书里给男又被新应聘J的人的小孩拿走给了书店白，风和黑帮头都孤儿院长大且风不能生育，黑帮帮风杀妻和帅，男从酒吧出见风上黑帮车结束

冲着藤原龙也看的这部悬疑，但演绎得有些故弄玄虚了，书中剧情与书外剧情应该有更加鲜明的区分，才能体现出原著的引人之处。原著主要是利用假亦真时真亦假的特点，但片子书内书外初始就用的都是藤原龙也，也就失去了这种感觉，更像个倒序时空蒙太奇的电影了。这个锅导演得背。还有就是黑帮也没个黑帮样，整体风格缺乏黑色氛围带来的紧张感，其实悬疑也必然要伴随着解开迷雾的压迫感，只有这种迷雾里的冰冷和迷雾外的炙热相结合，才能创造出炸裂的优质悬疑片。
拍的很是平淡，剧情散落，节奏感不好，有点浪费了卡司。
不意外，藤原又被捲入奇怪的事件了。劇情挺平淡的，不覺得怎麼好看，還是默默看完了
