The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 看的过程热泪盈眶，这就是原汁原味的百老汇歌剧的魅力。舞台表演永远最能接近艺术的本真，它的爆发力和感染力可能是电影都不能具备的。之前的《汉密尔顿》和《万尼亚舅舅》都制作了官摄版，如果没有疫情想必《来自远方》也不会诞生这个版本。至于表演，永远可以不用质疑歌剧演员的演技，他们超一流的群戏、走位、变装，这种舞台感已经说明了一切。棒！

看了女机长原型的采访，更感动了，她说她把这个看了101遍，每一遍都能从中获得感动和力量，导演没有长时间让观众沉浸在悲伤里，用inspiring的手法让人们记住了发生在纽芬兰岛Gander小镇的故事。
疫情解封后的百老汇音乐剧+911 20周年纪念让这部作品天然意义非凡，相比《汉密尔顿》讲述美国国父背后的男人的丰功伟绩，《来自远方》展现了加拿大纽芬兰岛民的力量与善意，it's a celebration of humanity，这是对普通人的赞歌。

还只看过饭拍版。制作很精良，也能煽动我流泪，但其实我不能完全共情，事件离我太遥远了。
剧情很有耐心很不错，尤其是最后立意放在彼此疗愈上。不过性工作者的合法性还是不能因为本片而被推举上舞台。还是只能处于灰色地带。
