The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 太脆弱了
想到日本那个为一个人而开的车站，直到女孩毕业离开村子才关闭。
小村落里出了天才儿童，是奇迹。
感觉叙事还是有待提高，女主下线太久，结尾蹦出来我都快把她忘了。
竟然是根据真实事件改编的，不过过多的戏剧化情节降低了情感共鸣，再生活化细腻些会更好
这个，归类成亲情片更贴切不是吗。虽然煽情比较常规，但还是契合了火车的元素，也是一种温暖，我们已经习惯了的韩式温暖。 不通公路的火车，让我一直想着我们国家真实的爬藤上下山去上学的故事，可惜没人改编成故事
剧情人设，情感处理，拍摄手法都是如此。当然，这个题材还是挺好的，被“铁路”“乡村”“林允儿”及清新的色调吸引进来看了。没成想里面还大有文章。爱情线不如里头的亲情线。魂魄姐姐的陪伴和鼓励，结尾恍然醒悟吐露心声的爸爸，是影片比较大的看点吧。允儿是富家千金的人设挺乐呵的，前半个小时陪着男主各种有趣电子见总统很欢乐。有些拖沓和冗长了，加上一些无厘头的剧情有点减分。修车站的事竟然能靠男主和众多父老乡亲就完成？结尾父亲痛哭流涕地道明缘由演的超级好。父亲从不曾正眼看过儿子，实则是愧疚及逃避。魂魄姐姐的陪伴及开导，对男主的人生产生了很重要的作用。爸爸和姐姐的演技在这部片都超棒。
小清新。不过，某种程度上反映了东亚农村社会的狭隘、封闭、短视，就这部电影来说，再加上韩国片片的那种叫人讶异的调调，至少我看不下去……
感觉这类韩国电影还是有韩剧浪漫恋爱的影子
这样的女朋友也不会有人愿意放弃吧
韩国总可以拍出这种隐藏在喜剧之下的悲情片。
220522。韩国人拍这种可太游刃有余了。/不过东亚电影少塑造些自以为是自我感动沉默寡言的东亚父亲形象吧，他们会真的以为自己默默承担了家庭的负担、世界的苦难，以为自己的默默不语有多伟大。
韩剧有一种特别的感觉，就是感觉即是田园牧歌的生活中也仿佛是可以实现的，是注重人的希望世界的。
在知道姐姐的真相之后，每次姐姐出现都忍不住哭，后来都哭到失声了，多好的姐姐多好的爸爸啊，可能共鸣太强实在止不住泪水。片尾的bgm给我跳戏到阳光姐妹淘了，算是小彩蛋不哈哈
亲情线: 父子多年来都背着巨大的包袱，都觉得因为自己而间接导致妻子/母亲和女儿/姐姐死去，都在自责，缺乏沟通交流的两人都没有勇气、颜面和自信面对彼此，关系一直拧巴着尴尬着。直到父亲意识到: 原来不但是自己背着包袱，儿子也在扛着，这才敞亮地聊开。 父亲向儿子坦白需要多大的勇气啊，父亲得知儿子知道自己曾有自杀的想法也是挺揪心的。。。总之活着的人还是要活下去的，卸下包袱才能更好地前行。
色调清新，童话电影。故事构想虽算不上新颖，但还是有惊喜的部分。即便有林允儿这样的仙颜女主，爱情线在电影里的作用最多算是调味品，吾心甚慰。
有个豆评说得好，最悬疑是姐姐是幻觉。车站是真的，天才貌似是编的。
有几段青春懵懂的试探和误会太好笑了。

三星半。好久好久没有看过韩式催泪弹了。两个小时爱情戏少的可怜，但是父爱，姐弟情深倒是拍的落泪。。
