The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 最大的区别是，帮助Will解开心结的是友情，而준경这边则是血脉亲情。共通点是两者在挣扎的过程中都受到了爱情的推动，并在结尾处给出了能够开花结果的走向。
非常不错，年度韩影佳作榜上有名。一座小小山村，一个普通却又不平凡的青年，为了沟通外界，连接世界的梦想不断向前。其实这种以小见大的现实主义题材，又刚好跟“扶贫”“城乡差距”相关，其实是中国最应该挖掘，最应该去发挥的题材。很显然韩国电影在这方面的完成度太高了，这是中国电影要学习的地方。林允儿的初恋感情戏更像是对男主角心路历程和性格价值观的补充，女主是个关键的棋眼角色，更丰富了男主的特点和剧情决定取向。与父亲的心结戏也是一种不错的扩充。

竟然是根据真实事件改编的，不过过多的戏剧化情节降低了情感共鸣，再生活化细腻些会更好
故事分了三段，都有不同的主题和感觉。第一段是天才少年遇到可爱少女，第二段是和姐姐的人鬼情未了，第三段是父子和解。除了第一段和第二段之间的转折有点让人意外，每个段落本身都是极尽套路和乏味。还是想多看点yona的甜甜的恋爱戏，下次换个题材拍呗。

挺感人的 但妈妈姐姐的故事和铁道员很像 男主长得太丑但演技ok 俩女主都接不住他的戏 既然一直没长大 为啥不找真正18岁的人演呢😅 看起来还算轻松愉快

然而男主就太差劲了，三十多岁长得像四五十，居然演高中生？分分钟让人出戏！
本来觉得这样题材的外语片看起来会是积极平淡缺少共鸣的 但其实比想象中动人

韩国电影最惯常工整的煽情手法，小人物的个人英雄主义有了真实事件作背书，故事才能像扒洋葱一样越到内核越催泪。初恋那条线太多余，删掉也许节奏会更好。
而且，这俩看上去哪里像高中生，设定为大学生不好吗…还光明正大早恋，那段看小电影的片段看得我尬到抠脚…
