The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 【D】不愧是国产学院派的作品，低成本带来的低劣制作真是让人难以忍受。“主旋律美学风格探索”实质便是后期狂降饱和度，让色彩以劣质山水画的模样去提升他们自以为的格调（是我这辈子最厌恶丁达尔效应的86分钟）。而当摄影机承载着更多的视点时，调度就只剩一团乱麻，枪声与死亡是如此随便，毫无情绪起伏的可能。而题材上的创新，也只是刨去角色的存在，让对不上口型的后期配音与莫名其妙的超现实段落彻底毁灭观众代入的可能，也无任何深度可言，反倒很适合给主创们做自我感动式的阅读理解题。
