The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 真挚的感情，需要凝滞的节奏来表现？没必要吧
基本就是科幻内核下的文艺片，对情感的细腻刻画让人为之动容，如果作为小说，算是那种初看不算惊艳，但细细品味之下让人掩卷思考良多的精品短片，全片没有什么太多的起伏，转折，以及戏剧冲突，有的是对家庭对爱人对人生的思考，格局确实不大， 但真真切切的能人每个拥有家庭情感的普通人去代入去思考，作为一部科幻片，很多人是存在刻板印象的，比如探讨家暴的《隐形人》探讨人工智能和仿生人的《机械姬》《升级》，都包含了大量动作惊悚悬疑类型元素，而这部片恰恰避开了这些，让人沉下心来，随着主角一起慢慢学会放手。
里面的场景非常高级，有种未来的感觉，题材蛮有现实主义的意义，然而故事对我而言太无趣。

设计还挺巧妙的，重情绪轻讨论的片子，不深入但感受到了。

我才反应过来
挺好玩的，没有试图搞些俗烂肤浅的深度，反而往简简单单的无厘头漫画风走去，娱乐感十足。可惜古恩的喜剧风格我还是喜欢不来，很多笑话段子感觉都很生硬，还有过于飞的故事线加上快速剪辑导致每个角色都有些单薄和出戏。多给一星鼓励DC多尝试不同风格。@ Jewel IMAX
与其沉迷于无效填充不如做减法拍成短片。
也许我们惧怕的从来都不是死亡本身 而是怕当下所拥有的一切都变成虚无 怕再也不能够真实地和爱的人相拥 说不上是死者的自私还是善意的谎言 爱到底能不能因此而延续谁也不知道 但最起码此刻你看着我的眼睛说的“I love u”是真实存在
又看了一遍，如果杰克后来发现，妻子也是备份的…。片子不是硬科幻但是情感推动精致细腻，结果并不重要，重要的是观看过程中引起的思考，如果是你又会如果选择，如果你是主角的家人如何接受和难过。
只是希望，因为快绝望
克隆人的技术都那么成熟了，为什么不能将本人完全复制粘贴过去呢？只是重新造了一个拥有自己记忆和所有生物特征的人，那这个技术又有什么意义呢？还是不能达到“永生”，只是找了一个自己的替代品，这种事情给人带来的冲击感和孤独感太难让人接受了，就好像让一个机器人或者陌生人来代替自己继续和家人生活一样。影片在伦理和个人情绪的描绘上做的不错。
比我预想的好太多了哈哈！好克苏鲁哦，下水道是城市的良心。
穿越生死是人类梦想，虽然不能穿越生死，但如果有个生死过渡的交接站也不错。
星味少了些，好在有滚导音乐和趣味的加持，印象最深的肯定是鲨鱼萌萌
