The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 年度遗珠，无论是本片的质量还是阿里的表演，都堪称2021年为数不多的上乘之选，也凸显了学院奖的固步自封和对科幻题材的偏见。它营造了一个轻未来的世界，用一个身患绝症的人选择克隆出几乎和自己一模一样的人，瞒着不知自己即将死去的家人，继续他的陪伴和存在。本质上，它在探讨了临终关怀的自我和解，忒休斯之船那种自我同一性的困惑，也是一个人选择如何有尊严的死去等等情感面的问题，科幻元素是高概念设定的手段，却并非故事的核心动力和主要卖点，甚至于它更像一碗绝症梗的鸡汤，只是因为那种精致的摄影、颇具轻未来风的艺术设计，和阿里细腻熨帖的表演，有一种沁人心脾的味道。
不适感会有 但故事还是理想化了 所以处理的很好 结尾真的很扎心啊……

文本简单又简短的电影，全程靠阿里的表演在支撑，但不是件坏事。超越了伦理的一次探讨，包括如何接受“逐渐被遗忘”，和如何接受镜像面对一个一模一样的“你”。
好喜欢，平静的接受了命运的不公与自己将会失去曾经拥有过的一切。其实不是科技让人变得更好，而是人性中善良的那部分吧。
一个人的离开先从身体的离开，再从精神上剥离。可是，记忆。或许是可以复制，但情感不能复刻。
