The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 去掉了加州、纽约和新奥尔良的色彩，以一种更加冷漠的视角去观察生活、聆听对话，犹如给你一杯白开水，平淡却依旧润泽。

故事平淡欲睡，但夹杂的念白和采访还是拥有聆听的价值。2021年的最后一部电影，希望我的收音话筒也能潜进世界的心脏。
或许是出于某种奇怪的刻板印象，叔侄关系的一对人物被搬上银幕，总让我觉得导演有颗拍公路片的心。说到本片，主题其实仍然是类似的，无非就是身陷囹圄的成年人被少不更事的孩子治愈（严重一点就是救赎）的故事，全片采用黑白色调就显得非常没有必要，完全起不到氛围严肃的作用，为何不干脆随大流使用干净明亮的色彩呢？不明白导演的用意何在。
成长过程中，我们不断调整表达方式，改善情绪的抒发方式，但可能变得越来越不诚实，不坦率，口是心非，也可能让某些亲密的关系在阴差阳错之下失之交臂越走越远。有时候从孩子的角度回看，可能会修复分叉，得到疗愈。
第一观感是，为啥人小孩已经能做到对未来有这样独立自主而带有强烈社会责任感的话语，侃侃而谈，自信沉稳，满满小大人姿态，这是差距，跟文化有关，外显、热情、直接表达喜怒哀乐。

真是温柔的一部电影。华金依旧贡献了不同且让我惊讶的表演。打算补完他的电影了，好像质量都很不错。
