The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 基本上是开场就会掉眼泪，残疾运动员不容易，残疾运动员的父母更不容易，而这点在片中母子俩最大的冲突中，苏妈也终于忍不住说出这多年的痛。全片靠着三姑的情感带动，三位“苏桦伟”表现也相当出色，令这个神奇的故事最终能够精彩呈现。三位“苏桦伟”都有机会争夺明年的金像奖最佳新人奖（具体看片方如何报名），而三姑应该能凭借此片再度封后，她所饰演的母亲，并不是大呼大叫、强权控制的类型，她身上那种隐忍的痛太令人揪心。
