The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 一个关于个人成长的故事，一个关于故事的故事
灯将灭，方见其棱，其骨，其心。抬头，他就在。
画面精美，摄影行云流水，构建的世界是美丽的，能夸的就这些了。影片徒有其表，内容空洞，基本上没什么有趣的东西。整个观影过程由于没有太大的情感上的共鸣，所以基本大多时候处于状况外。完全不及导演前作《鬼魅浮生》。
6.3分。纯纯的儿童电影。人物脸谱化，剧情太赶，感动不了大人。

关于生命，死亡，与告别——与Pirandello的告别，维托里奥的告别，还有男孩对自己杀死的红发女孩的漫长告别——她的生命被永远留在童年，男孩一天天长大，终于也来到生命的暮年，即将面对与人世的告别。生命就像一个又一个轮回，但每个春天，夏天，秋天，和落雪的冬天，都有一个人坐在小小的愈发凋零的墓碑前，直到这个人也已满头白发。
不知道是不是算传记，比较沉闷，前半部的黑白真实的展开一部葬礼的曲折。后半部的彩色仿佛是在演示逝者的这部作品，但依然是在探讨死亡的有无意义。

6.5 一则寓言故事，骑士的试炼。考验意志，品质，德行。开放结局留白，视听俱佳。美学风格独特，阴郁的氛围提升电影气质，节奏有点过于冗长，有精美外壳但无实质内核。

反骑士精神的醉乡民谣，最后促成男主角成为骑士的仅仅也是对充斥谎言的未来的恐惧。
