The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 也是潮汕旅游文化美食宣传片吧，唱戏喝茶坐船吃小吃的悠闲日子，挺有兴趣去玩下的。牛肉丸，麻叶，橄榄菜，红桃粿，烧鸭烧鹅烧鸡……
很久没见过如此有乡土气息的电影了，冲突很真实，妈妈拍的太有老母亲的味道了
有种好看的电影就是贵在真实，感情真实，人物真实。

故事整体很平，甚至前后部分节奏失衡到让人怀疑换了导演。但这部电影具有某种将电影和人连接起来的感情，这种感情质朴无声常常隐匿在生活中，相信周围的潮汕朋友看这个应该感触比我深。直到最后我才明白，电影名带你去年我妈，“妈妈”才是影片哪个最有力量的人。诚然，“妈妈”处在自己的局限当中，邻里、习俗，周围的人构建了她的世界，社会的发展日新月异，就如汕头和深圳，新和旧不靠拢注定以一种割裂的方式存在，但在限制中却有真切的感情，所谓包容，哪个“容”是从同理心、感情出发的，因为在意在乎儿子的感受，愿意退让，即使用着最无声的行为表示。
从客观的角度看，整体呈现不错。不过有些片段，还是让人感觉有点不舒服吧。

7.5分。很久没看到这么认真探讨代际问题的院线电影了。“妈妈”的表演撑起全片。结尾那句“妈妈是不是很没用啊”，一下子把整部片的意蕴提上去了。

作为一个有潮汕胃的广东女婿，也能有一点感触。我妈一个上海人，没有宗族文化的桎梏，也一样会有那么一点小市侩，那么坚强又敏感。“妈妈”这个角色真是上一辈中国女性的平均形象
