The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 老爷子能不能不要再给自己安排感情线了，男主演技简直就是槽点，内个追杀者也可以说是最失败的了。。
片子的气质，是晚年的老人的自我感动，脑中剩下对曾经的遗憾和意气风发的回望。
结局很像东木为自己电影生涯画上的句点，一个美妙到刻板、不真实的墨西哥童话故事。
其实他还健康的偶尔拍拍东西，我们就该感恩了不是吗，这就足够了。

一老一小的越境之旅，很温情很有爱，在小镇里与玛尔塔一家的生活更是美好得不像话。一直担心这样暖的一个童话故事最后来个BE，幸好并没有，恭喜东木老爷子撩妹成功！那只名叫“猛男”的公鸡也是神鸡一枚，聪明护主，简直就是个狗（纯褒义哈哈哈）！东木老爷子年过九旬依然如此高产，而且每部水准都不差，有人批评本片太过温吞清淡，但我觉得就舒舒服服地讲个小故事不也挺好么？祝老爷子健康长寿继续在光影世界纵马驰骋！
